BioCote – Explainer Video Production
Previously we had engaged in explainer video production for one of BioCote®'s partners. Consequently when BioCote® wanted a short explainer video of their own they approached Red Fred Creative. We employed a mix of animated content with some product photography to explain how the BioCote® technology works to protect the products onto which it is applied.

The process
Initially we worked on a storyboard to set the look and feel of the animation. Critically we want to ensure the story is being told fully and effectively. This is always a hugely valuable part of the creative process. Specifically it allows us to identify opportunities and generally explore ideas. The animated characters certainly added a lightness to the scientific subject matter and helped to make the information easily digestible. Adobe After Effects is the primary creative tool we employ in the creation of animations.

The Results
In this case the solution is designed to work without a voiceover and descriptive titles are used to add depth to the visuals. A musical soundtrack adds a little tempo and lightness to the video animation.
There was a slight concern that the photographic product shots might seem a little out of place in the animation. However, the inclusion of the photos were mandatory because they featured examples of the type of products BioCote® can be applied to. Consequently, we came up with the idea of a cartoon hand swiping through some images on a tablet thus bringing together the two worlds in with the minimum of distraction. Most importantly the explainer video will prove to be a very useful business tool for BioCote®.
