NANTWICH WORDS & MUSIC FESTIVAL – DESIGN
Brief
The Festival has been part of Nantwich’s ever growing event schedule since 2007 and each year goes from strength to strength. We were approached by the promotions team to be involved in the Words & Music Festival design and marketing.
The Look & Feel
We wanted to pick a theme which was associated with the fact that this was the eleventh festival. When you ask most music fans what they associate with eleven, most will reply with This is Spinal Tap. The famous scene from this movie, and the amplifiers used became our inspiration for the look and feel of the festival, as well as becoming the tag line “This One Goes to Eleven”.
The Solution
The concept went down very well with the festival team, so we got straight to work.
We incorporated a metallic script font with a speaker grille texture, and used this across the marketing material. As well as producing promotional literature such as flyers and leaflets, we created gig posters, pull up banners and festival merchandise. So taken with the them, the organisers decided to sell tee shirts at the festival for the first time.
We also designed the website, which took the look to a different level completely.
It was a unified suite of items which any festival would be proud to use.
The Client
The 2018 event has past, but the website can still be accessed here.
We are already considering ideas for the twelfth festival for 2019.
