MaxWaxed – Branding & Website Design
Brief
A client of Red Fred Creative approached us to create the branding for his new business, Professional Car Detailing in the Costa del Sol region of Spain.
The Look & Feel
Having worked with this client before, we knew that they like to be different, so tried to avoid things such as 80’s mirrored text and anything too overtly related to particular car brands.
We suggested that Max could be a character, drawing from influences such as U.S. Gas Station Mascots and 1930’s animation.
We’ve shown a couple of the initial concept versions we presented to the client. Our thoughts were a washing mitt or a polishing pad, which is what the client selected.
The Solution
Once the client chose the version of the character he preferred, we worked on a number of different type option. We gave a number of different suggestions, from retro bubble type, to something more akin to pop art lettering.
From here, were were asked to design vehicle graphics, labels, die-cut windscreen flyers and a website.
We took Max a step further on the website and created a simple character animation. You can check the site out here.
The Client
The client couldn’t have been happier – “Looks mega. Really pleased with the outcome.” You could say we “maxed” his expectations!
