BPA – BUNCEFIELD BOOK DESIGN

Brief

“Help tell the story of the largest explosion in peacetime Britain” was part of the brief for this book design project. The British Pipeline Agency (BPA) wanted a book to commemorate ten years since “The Buncefield Fire”. For those who don’t know, The Buncefield Fire was a series of huge explosions in the fifth largest oil storage depot in the UK. The explosion measured 2.4 on the Richter scale and the smoke cloud could be seen from space. Thankfully, no one was killed, but there were some none-serious injuries.

The Look & Feel

Corporate, respectful and informative.

The Solution

Using Photographs, CCTV, Aerial Video, press cuttings and official documents, we worked with the client to create this book. We also arranged the printing of the book to a tight deadline, as the book was to be given out to people on the tenth anniversary of the incident.

The client was impressed with the results, both in design and print quality. Achieving their deadline was the icing on the cake.

You can read more about the incident here.

The Client

My team have just taken me through the final presentation and the book. I am impressed. Well done and can you pass on my thanks to your support teams.
